Dear Friends of the Connecticut Choral Society,
We are deeply grateful for your continued support as we emerge and grow beyond the challenges of the past few years. Your generosity and enthusiasm have allowed us to share the power of choral music and build meaningful connections within our community.
This past season has been truly remarkable:
- In May, we presented Monteverdi’s Vespers with Orchestra Nexus under the direction of Eric Dale Knapp, featuring professional soloists. This ambitious undertaking culminated in a packed house at Trinity Episcopal Church in Newtown.
- On December 8, in partnership with Trinity Episcopal Church, we hosted Evensong, a free service of music and reflection, offering peace and joy in the midst of the holiday season.
Looking Ahead to 2025
We are excited to share our upcoming performances:
- Palm Sunday, April 13, 2025 – Messiah Sing (Parts II & III) at Valley Presbyterian Church, Brookfield, featuring Linda Sweetman-Waters on organ, professional soloists, and Maestro Eric Dale Knapp conducting. Open to singers and listeners alike!
- Sunday, June 1, 2025 – Brahms’ Requiem at Trinity Episcopal Church, Newtown, featuring Orchestra Nexus and professional soloists. This moving performance will be followed by an Afterglow reception, open to all.
- September 2025 – Celebrate America, a stirring tribute to the American spirit, featuring Orchestra Nexus at Trinity Episcopal Church, Newtown.
- November 2025 – Duruflé’s transcendent Requiem and Vaughan Williams’ Toward the Unknown Region—a powerful exploration of faith and discovery.
