WHERE VOICES UNITE
Not just in harmony, but in purpose.

The Connecticut Choral Society

It began quietly. A handful of singers—fewer than 30—gathered in a room not for fame, not for accolades, but for the sheer joy of raising their voices together. From that first rehearsal, something took root: a belief in the power of music not only to move audiences, but to build bridges, heal hearts, and foster a sense of belonging.

Today, the Connecticut Choral Society is a vibrant musical force, drawing singers from more than 20 towns across the region. We have grown into one of New England’s most admired choral ensembles—celebrated for bold programming, stirring artistry, and Western Connecticut’s premiere performances of masterworks both timeless and new. But what truly defines us is not where we’ve sung—it’s why we sing.

We’ve performed at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, at Yale’s Woolsey Hall and on international stages across England, Austria, Australia, and China. And yet our deepest purpose remains close to home: to bring transformative musical experiences to the communities of Connecticut. Whether offering a Brahms Requiem, a newly commissioned work, or a single, sacred candlelit hymn, we strive to create spaces of reflection, unity, and grace.

Our music is a gift—to our audiences, to each other, and to the future. In every phrase, we affirm the values of compassion, resilience, and hope. Choral music, for us, is not just performance—it is a public offering, a form of cultural diplomacy, and a reminder that beauty still binds us together in a fractured world.

As we prepare for our 2026 season, we invite you to be part of this journey. Whether as a singer, supporter, or listener, you are welcome here. Come discover what happens when voices unite—not just in harmony, but in purpose.  Stay tuned for more info about dates and times of upcoming performances!
